AI and visualisation notice
What beform generates, how it does it, what a visual can and cannot tell you, and how to use visuals responsibly. The plain language companion to the terms of use.

What beform generates
From a photo of a room, a building, a facade or a garden, beform generates visuals of how that space could look with other materials, colours, finishes, lighting or planting. It also reads the photo to name the area and the elements it sees, and it can suggest ideas for the space. In a company’s own setup, beform can show a price range next to a visual, calculated from the prices that company has entered.
Images on this website may also be generated or edited with AI, including before and after examples. They illustrate what beform does and are not photographs of completed work unless a caption says so.
How it works
Your photo is prepared in your browser and sent to our servers, which pass it on to AI models of third parties. Today these are models of Google (the Gemini family) for renders and photo analysis, and models of OpenAI (GPT Image and GPT) for renders, photo analysis and suggestions. The models can change as better ones become available. The current providers are listed in the privacy notice.
beform adds the instructions. They tell the model what must not change, such as the camera angle, walls, windows, doors and fixtures, what may change, and the direction you chose. Where beform names an engine, for example beform Image Engine, the name describes this combination of third-party models with beform’s instructions and settings.
Visuals are shown as soon as the model returns them. No person checks them first. Visuals from the free demo carry a watermark and a preview badge.
What a visual can and cannot tell you
A visual gives a realistic impression of a direction: how a material, a colour or a finish could look in this particular space, and a shared picture to talk about before anyone plans or quotes.
A visual cannot tell you:
- the exact dimensions, quantities or proportions, because it is not a plan and not true to scale,
- whether the work is technically feasible, structurally sound, compliant with building rules or permitted,
- what the work will cost, because a price range is not a quote,
- whether a product, material or colour exists, is available or will look exactly like this when installed.
Renders are instructed to keep the geometry of the photo. They can still move, add, remove or resize elements, change proportions or perspective, invent details or show light, reflections and textures that would look different in reality. Every visual is illustrative, not a guarantee.
Review by people
Companies using beform should review every visual before they send it to a client, and confirm materials, dimensions, feasibility, permits and price in their own offer after a site visit or measurement. The company, not beform, is responsible for what it presents and promises to its clients.
Clients who receive a visual should treat it as a starting point for a conversation. Before deciding anything, discuss it with the company and with qualified professionals such as an architect, planner or engineer where the work calls for one.
beform does not make decisions about people. The AI models analyse photos of spaces and generate images and suggestions, nothing more.
Labelling visuals
We recommend that every company using beform marks visuals as AI-generated illustrations wherever they appear: in consultations, offers, emails, on websites, in advertising and on social media. A short caption is enough, for example:
“AI-generated illustration. Not to scale. Materials, colours and details may differ from the finished work.”
Clear labelling is honest towards clients and reduces the risk that a visual is taken as a promise or as a photograph of real work, which could be misleading under the Swiss Unfair Competition Act and comparable laws. It is also in line with the transparency rules for AI-generated and AI-edited images under the EU AI Act, which apply to many uses in the European Union.
Do not present a visual as a photograph of an existing or completed project, and do not use it as evidence of the condition of a property.
Reporting a problem
If a visual is offensive, shows a person, infringes someone’s rights or is being used in a misleading way, or if you have a concern about how a company uses beform, write to hi@beform.ai. Tell us where and when you saw it and what the problem is. We look into reports and can act against misuse.
This notice explains in plain language what sections 3 and 4 of the terms of use set out. Where they differ, the terms of use prevail.
